Anything in Strensham Parish Records
« on: Monday 28 September 09 19:51 UTC (UK) »

I have a list of four children:

William christened 9 Oct 1737 - Strensham, Worc
Francis christened 23 Dec 1739 - ditto
John christened 19 Sep 1742 - ditto
James christened 13 Mar 1747 - ditto

I believe their surname was Allard and I an deperate to see if the James child became the husband of a Mary Potter in Wetheringsett, Suffolk in 1773. If so my brick wall starts to crumble after five years searching. Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Have just found out that Francis Allard married an Elizabeth HANDY or CUTLER in Strensham on 2 October 1737 aged 12. Then had her first child William a week later. Can anyone share any more light on this family. Was her surname Handy or Cutler, where were they originally from, or any other information.

Anything would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Details from Strensham parish records

Francis Allard & Elizabeth Handy als Cutler both of this parish were married October 2nd 1737.

The next entry in the register was

William, son of Francis Allard & Elizabeth his wife was baptised on October 9th 1737.

Possible baptism for Elizabeth was

Elizabeth daughter of Francis Handy als Cutler & Anne his wife was baptised 19th July 1713.

Found these as well

Francis, son of Francis Cutler & Anne his wife was baptised 17th June 1708

William, son of Francis Cutler & Anne his wife was baptised August 12th 1709

Francis Handy als Cutler was buried August 25th 1713

Thomas Thould and Anne Handy als Cutler, widow both of this parish were married by license September 26th 1719

I'm guessing als means alias
