Very sad, deaths of those two children, must have been very upsetting for Ellenor

Mar 1874   Newcastle T.    10b   33   STOKOE    Mary aged 4
Mar 1874    Newcastle T.    10b   7     STOKOE    Emma aged 3

You would need to get the marriage cert for more information about church etc

A search on the Newcastle City Council Website  http://www.newcastle.gov.uk/msearch.nsf/msearch?openform suggests this marriage took place at St John the Baptist, Newcastle on Tyne.

Hi Jennifer, I should have remembered that Newcastle website  Embarrassed  well done!

Alison, you're welcome   Smiley

now have you got full details of Elenor in the earlier census 1871/1881/1891 or just a note of them?  I've been trying to find her in 1861 before her marriage, now that we know where she was born

As she was born N/castle St. Andrews according to the 1901 census this may be her family - you need the marriage cert to confirm father's name and occupation although he's not present in 1851 census

We'll know more if/when you get the marriage certificate  Smiley

Not sure about the entries for Ellenor in Winterton hospital, as just initials used instead of full names
