Glasgow birth
« on: Wednesday 30 September 09 00:41 UTC (UK) »

I have come to a dead end in my search for the birth of Phobie Leech born around 1843 in Glasgow to parents Joseph and Mary Ann.  Joseph was an ex soldier possible working as a railway policeman and aged around 43 in 1843.  Her mother was Irish.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I take it you have seen the family living at Wales in 1851? Joseph states he was born at Wolverhampton around 1800. Do you know Mary Ann's surname and have you found a marriage for her and Joseph?

Hi, thanks for the reply, no marriage, but I was hoping that the birth details for Phobie might help with the mothers name to help with taking her back further.

A bit more expensive but I think her brother Joseph's 1850 birth cert is the one you're going to have to look at for Mary Ann's surname. I don't know much about English certs but hopefully it will show date and place of marriage.

If they were RC rumour has it that SP will have these records online before the end of the year.
