Carnmoney Parish Graves look-up
« on: Wednesday 30 September 09 16:21 UTC (UK) »

I am looking for information about graves of the Watson family from Carnmoney. Thomas died 7 Nov 1911; his wife Mary Eliza (nee Gilliland)  on 31 Jul 1881. They had offspring Thomas, Elizabeth or Lizzie, George Walker, David, Hessie and James of which we know little and also John who we know died here in Scotland. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi

I have found in the book The Hidden Graveyard produced by The North of Ireland Family History Society:

Grave B/B8
Watson
Ornate sandstone with metal railings

Erected by Thomas Watson in memory of his beloved wife Mary Eliz, who departed this life 11 July 1881, aged 43 years. Also his son William who died 17th September 1865, aged 2 years & 7 months. Also his daughter Sarah Eliz, the bloved wife of William H McLeery, who died 18th December 1902, aged 29 years. Also the above Thomas Watson, who died 7th November 1911. James McMillan, youngest son of above who died 7 November 1946.  "Until the dawn"

If I get time I will get a Photo of the grave for you.

John

Fantastic!!  Thank you very much. If I can reciprocate by checking any graves in Edinburgh, let me know. Don't worry about a photo. We shall be in Northern Ireland soon and this grave is clearly the one to visit.
