Looking for BMD information on Harry (possibly registered as Henry) & Doris Cox, parents of Ronald Frank Cox b.1939, d.1997. Family originated from IOW and Southampton and relocated to Lancashire.

Ronald Frank Cox died Apr 1997, Preston & S Ribble district: date of birth given as 22 Oct 1938.

Ronald F Cox - birth registered Dec qtr 1938 (Southampton 2c 124): mother's maiden name Aldred. 

Doris A Aldred m. Henry G Cox Sep qtr 1924.  (Fylde 8e 1800)

The most likely birth for Doris on Free BMD is Doris Annie Aldred, born Sep qtr 1905 (Prescot 8b 763)

However, it's not the only possibility, and there are unfortunately lots of possibilities for Henry, so I would recommend getting the marriage cert, which will give you their ages and fathers' names.
