Hi,
From various census records from 1851-1871 I can see that my 5x gt grandmother Maria Smith was born in Walberswick around 1791. I do not know who her parents are, and was wondering if somebody who has access could please take a look for me? She went on to marry Robert Baker in Wrentham, where she died aged 86 in 1877.
Thanks for reading,
Reaybo

Hello Reaybo,
Sorry I can't help with your baptism look up, but this book is all about Walberswick and surround area, about the time your Maria Smith was living there, and it's fascinating.... unless you've already seen it... There are quite a few Smith families mentioned in it, but no Maria.... http://www.rootschat.com/links/077y/

That is a really interesting link, Yorklass. My OH's mother was a Smith and the earliest ancestor I have found for him is an Edward Smith, born Southwold 1824. I am stuck with him too, so I will read the book with interest.
Best of luck with your hunt, Reaybo; goodness, but you might be related to my OH. What a small world!
Best regards, Greensleeves
