I apologise if I have left this post before.

I have been looking for George Beare birth/baptism 29th Jan 1869 at Marazion and I have looked through the images on BMD through 1869/1868 and I can't find him. He isn't on  the Marazion website bmd although I have found other members of the correct Beare family on that website.

If his birth is what the person thinks is George, it isn't in the March qtr 1869 images on BMD unless I missed it.
His information is on a tree on Ancestry and my information has been attached to that family.
Before I add anyone I make sure that it is correct even buying various certificates but where this information comes from I have no idea.

I hope that someone can help.

Hi Maryanne,

Where is he in 1870? I can only see a one-year old with parents James and Hannah, but he would be 2 on the census already if he was born in Mar 1869 .   

The 1 year old might be this birth registration:
George Beer - Sep 1869 Penzance 5c 292

Hello Tati.

There lies the problem.

The 1871 census was taken on the 2nd April therefore if he was born on the given date he would be just over 2 years old.

The James and Hannah Bear in 1871 is the correct family for me.

The George Beer you found born in the Sept qtr 1869 doesn't add up to the George that person has in their tree who they say was born in Jan 1869.His details would have been in the March qtr 1869.

On Ancestry information is taken and added but the people concerned do not seem to wish to reply to emails.

Might be worth checking the actual film for this extracted IGI christening - maybe the original says Jun instead of Jan?  Undecided

I didn't think to look at the IGI  Roll Eyes

At least I know that George belongs in the family tree. Smiley

Looking at the baptisms of this family on the Cornwall Parish Register website 4 of their children were baptised at Gulval,3 of them in the same year.Another  was baptised at Marazion.
I wonder why George doesn't appear.

Thanks to you spotting a George Beer birth Sep qtr 1869.
I sent for George Beare's birth certificate and it says that he was born on the 29th June 1869 but as usual the surname is spelt as Beer instead of the usual Beare or Bear.
The IGI was incorrect.
