William Mcfarlane Mcleod - Campsie
« on: Thursday 01 October 09 22:01 UTC (UK) »

  Hi

William Mcfarlane Mcleod was born in Lennoxtown(Campsie) in 1836.
I have an undated article from the "Daily Times" newspaper written by his brother
  James Mcleod.
In the article it reads " you will allow me to state that my brother Mr William
Mcleod was fellow traveller of Dr Livingstone and assisted at the buriel of
  his wife Mary".
There is plenty of info on Livingstone himself but,not the "fellow travellers".
Can anybody advise me where this info might be available.    Undecided

   Many thanks
  Barbara

Hi Barbara,
I was thinking maybe your man gets a mention in the journals of David Livingstones travels.
Maybe your local library or book shop would be able to help,
I looked up 'Google books'
and typed in Dr David Livingstone and up came several books,
good luck,
regards,Billy.

   Hi Billy

Thanks for that suggestion,I will definitely look into that.
Have found one site mentioning briefly that he contracted "black river fever"
Didn't seem to damage him permanantly as he managed to come to NZ
   and produce 10 children.    Shocked
