Bertram Harry Gutsell "Bertini"

My great aunt was Ellaline Victoria Smith (born 1902) and she married Bertram harry Gutsell.  He was a musician and became quite famous around Blackpool and was known as "Bertini".  I did find an article about him on the web in "Memory Lane" which states they were married about 1929 But I cannot find any record of the marriage either in England or Scotland BMD.  There is a record of their daughter Pamela's birth in 1929 in Fylde and a record of Bert's death in 1952 in Edinburgh where they lived, but nothing about Ellaline.  Can anyone help?

Thank you Sarah, no I didn't have the baptism and yes I think it was his 2nd marriage but i cannot find anything about that one either, although that line really isn't really where I am heading. But it is odd that I cannot find the marriage info.

Thank you Simon, The U tube clip is great.  I have photos of him and his family from when my father visited in 1944 and now I know a lot more about his background.  But where is the marriage registration and what happened to his 1st wife?

I can't find a death of 1st wife -but there is a birth reg in 1926 of a Gulsell child -mother's maiden name Goddard
Cannot post details as may be a living person

I cannot find another Gulsell/Goddard marriage in UK

So maybe Beatrice and Bertie divorced - or maybe Ellaline and bertie never married??

Thanks for that ... it is a possibility that they didn't marry.  I cannot find any death record for Ellaline  or for Beatrice either.  If their son was born in 1926 and Pamela in 1929 I guess the window for Beatrice's death/divorce/seperation and Ellalines "link up"/marriage are those 3 years and they were together in 1944 so her death was after that.  Do you know if there is anyway to check out divorces  or is that just too hard? I live in Australia so I cannot just duck down to the archives or anywhere like that to check it out.
