Mary was born ?1897, place of birth unknown. She died in 1938 november, unable to find register of this.Mary may have died in Ravenscraig. Grateful for any information.

firstly Welcome to Rootschat
have you tried Scotland's People
I done a general search for the birth
there is one Mary McGuire born 1900 in Port Glasgow
there are over 70 born Greenock 1895 to 1900
there are three deaths for a Mary Wallace between 1935 and 1940 in Greenock
have you found a marriage for her
that would give you her mothers maiden name which is sometimes helpful
when searching for death certs

Thankyou for the welcome. My Mum said it was spelt without the a but she may be wrong. I think I need to join scotlands people, Ive just paid to join genesreunited not realising I couldnt see scottish records. Thanks for the infomation.

I dont have a marriage date, I would guess Mary married George Wallace about 1918. They had 4/5 children from about 1920- mary,matilda,george,Thomas and possibly another. I think all the children were born in Greenock.

Hi Fiona
Scotlands people site is free to join
but you have to buy credits to view the certificates
£6.00 gets you 30 credits
it is one credit to download the certs and five credits to actually view them
all in it cost about £1.50 for the cert
it can get really exspensive though so it is better to optimise your search so that
you are not paying the one credit all the time
there are some McGuire's and Wallace's on this site

their marriage is not there
it might be it is a bit later than the info that is on there
but some of the names may be of interest to you once you find
a bit more about them

I finally received the 10 free credits but as you can imagine they went very quickly.Thankyou for your help.I am now in touch with her ggranddaughter but neither of us can find infomation about her, her gd thinks she was born in Ireland.I have one question to ask but I will start it as a new topic,Thanks Fiona
