Appleton's Burtonwood
« on: Sunday 04 October 09 13:30 UTC (UK) »

Hello,

Is anyone researching the Appleton family ?

I have Samuel Appleton bap 1801 Burtonwood  (son of Samuel & Ellen).
I think this Samuel married Elizabeth Holt 1823 Liverpool.

Samuel and Ellen also bap Henry in Nov 1798 Burtonwood.

The only marriage found so far on  the IGI for a Samuel and Ellen is,
Samuel Appleton to Ellen Sephon in 1804, which is to late.

Any help appreciated

Hi,

There are loads of Appletons on www.lan-opc.org.uk both under Burtonwood and Warrington.

I found this marriage under Warrington:-

Marriage: 11 Jan 1797 St Elphin, Warrington, Lancashire, England
Samuel Appleton - of This Parish
Ellen Fitchett - (X), of This Parish
    Witness: Nathanael Cooper; Ireland Arrowsmith
Married by Licence by: Daniel Mathias Curate
    Register: Marriages 1784 - 1802, Page 314, Entry 760
    Source: LDS Film 1562958

Hope this helps you.  You are going to be kept busy now unravelling all those Appletons and finding out who belongs to who  Cheesy.

Best of luck,
