Hello,
im trying to discover the whereabouts of Mary Ann Amos(formerly Barrows nee Spain) on 1901.
She was born in Ramsgate in 1857 and married her second husband John Amos in 1883.
By 1891 she appears to have seperated from John and is living with her parents.
John(mistranscribed Jonn) is elsewhere.
On the 1901 John born 1855 Sturry appears to be in London and is still married.
I cant find a Mary Ann Amos/Barrow/Spain anywhere on the 1901.
If anyone can tell me where she was id be grateful,

On the 1901 John born 1855 Sturry appears to be in London and is still married.
That could be an error. 
By 1891 she appears to have seperated from John and is living with her parents.
You dont say where.
There is this on the free bmd which might be worth considering.
Mary Ann Amos born about 1854 d. March q. 1897 Mile end Old Town.

thanks for the reply.
I should have said on the 1891 Mary Ann has reverted to her maiden name of Spain,and is living with her parents William and Mary Ann.

I also wondered if she had just separated from William and not divorced and was just using her prior name .. if she had passed away I think she would have gone down under her legally married name of Amos.
Is the area correct for her 
Perhaps someone else would like to comment .

Thanks for input Suzard.... so area is not correct for her death but she is down as still married in 1891.
As she was only 34 its possible if she couldent divorce she might be living with someone and down under another name in 1901

Don't forget the census is only where they were on one night in 10 years
her husband could have been away working.
Are you certain of his age and p.o.b.
Did they have any children???

I did wonder myself whether she might be living with someone else and using their surname.
I shall keep searching and hopefully shell show up somewhere.
