Married in Canada?
« on: Sunday 04 October 09 19:56 UTC (UK) »

Big ask I know but can anyone help.
I am looking for a marriage which I believe to be in Canada (I know its a big country).

Edwin Stothard married Elizabeth Chambers between 1881 and 1889.

Edwin was born in Lincolnshire in 1861 and Elizabeth in Derby.

Many thanks in advance for looking.

Forget the last post. She was born in Derby. Doh!!

Can you see 2 births in Canada

Emily A Stothard aged 15 born Canada....Simcoe Ontario. 27th Oct 1885
Mary E Stothard aged 13 born Canada

Location of Tyrone, Ontario.

Birth of Emily Annie 27 Oct 1885 Nottawasaga Township Simcoe County.  Edwin's occupation was gardener.

Birth of Mary Elizabeth April 20, 1887.  Edwin's occupation labourer and living in Collingwood.  There was no county on the birth registration but it should also be in Simcoe County.

Hi Cosmac
Thanks for that. Only problem I have is that the wedding I got jksdelver said father was Benjamin where I believe it was William?? Could be a typo I suppose.

Any ideas?

The marriage registration was handwritten.  Perhaps the fact that Elizabeth Chambers father was Benjamin confused the issue and the same Christian name was entered for the father of the bride and groom.
