Baptism - Robert BUCKENHAM - Rendlesham c.1660
« on: Sunday 04 October 09 21:40 UTC (UK) »

I would love it if someone could check whether there was a Robert Buckenham (or variant) born in Rendlesham around 1660. He was married in 1681, so his baptism is likely not any later than 1660, but may be a year or so before instead.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Lewis

I attempted to look this up for you at the records office today but on fiche the baptism records for Rendlesham only went back as far as 1722.

Sorry  Huh

The SRO only sells fiche for St Gregory the Great, Rendlesham from 1722 -1900 despite the church being a very ancient one.  I wonder if there was a problem with the records.  Perhaps the earlier registers haven't survived. Undecided  It is most unlike the SRO not to copy everything available.
