Hi, cheekily jumping in while Alpine is offline, hope thats all right. I found Craven St, Chorlton/Hulme on Orinoco's linked maps. It was a small street coming off Upper Moss Lane.
Go to the 1935 map in the link and click square 3b. Find the crossroads at Stretford Rd and Moss Lane - two big roads at top of the square, below the word 'Hulme'. Go south, that is, down Moss Lane. Craven St is about the 7th road down on the right hand side.
Then if you go back up Moss Lane to Stretford Rd, turn right along Stretford Rd past Hulme Town Hall, you should find Dunham St by the E of the big word 'Hulme'
Hope you're not lost! I'm sure Alpine will describe it better on return Barbara

To the list member who said they went to school in Hulme and Moss Side , was this St Mary's School? I went to that school. I lived near the school in Stockton street in Moss Side.
