HARTUP/BAKER Cobham
« on: Monday 05 October 09 09:04 UTC (UK) »

Hi all,
any ideas where I could find more info on my ancesters from Cobham/Luddesdown area?

GEORGE (1) HARTUP and Phillis BAKER were married on 11th October
1857 at St. Botolph's Church in Northfleet. George (1's) parents were GEORGE
(2) HARTUP and Mary HAYES, who married at St. Peter & St. Paul's Church in
Luddesdown on 4th November 1827, then had at least 9 children - Fanny
(1829), Adelaid (1833), George (1) (1834 my ancestor), Mary Ann (1836), Keziah
(1840), Michael (1843), Emma (1844), John (1847) and Maria (1851).

In the 1841 census the family home was at Old Road, Parrock Street, Milton,
Gravesend, Kent and in the 1851 census the family home was at 176 Perry
Street, Northfleet Kent.

We think George died in 1869, but don't know when/where Mary died. The parents of the above George (2) were William Hartup and his wife Sarah (maiden name unknown). We know nothing of the
origins of these two, but they appear to have had at least 8 children, all in the parish of St. Mary Magdalene, Cobham - Georgia Anna (1785), Maria (1787), William (1789), Fanny (1792), Henry (1794), George (2) (1797 my ancestor), John (1801) and Sarah (1803)

The Georges are my line.

So any suggestions greatfully received.
Thanks
