Hi, I am looking for Mary Wheeler born 1832/3 in Broadway, Worcestershire, but she may have been in Buckinghamshire in 1861. Could someone please have a look for Mary, maybe she was a servant or similar or living with family. Many thanks Ro

The Wheeler family next door would appear to have been a very comfortably off lot! But Brewers as well, so very possibly linked to their Jones neighbours.
Wheeler:
Robert, 48, Mayor, Banker and Brewer, employing 20 men, Bucks, Wycombe Esther, wife, 44, London Edward, 17 Henry, 16 George, 14 Robert G, 12 Esther, 9 Ann Edwards, Cook, Oxon, Witney Ann Avery, Housemaid, " Henley Sarah Kirby, Nurse, Bucks, Gt Marlow

Just in case you have an interest in the WHEELER family of High Wycombe you may like to know a little about them.
BIDDLE and KING established a brewery in Easton Street, High Wycombe in the late 18th century. In 1808 Robert WHEELER went into partnership with Andrew BIDDLE and the firm became known as BIDDLE and WHEELER. By the mid 19th century the BIDDLE family had sold their share to the second generation of the WHEELER family who were also involved in banking. In 1875 Thomas WHEELER was mayor, Treasurer of the Savings Bank, Chairman of the School Board, Treasurer of the Wycombe Union, a director of Wycombe Bank and was also running the brewery. In July 1898 Wheeler's Wycombe Breweries was registered as a limited liability company to acquire the businesses of WHEELER and Co. and LEADBITTER and BIRD, Frogmore Brewery, High Wycombe, and 148 licensed houses and brew houses. The company was taken over by Ashby's Brewery of Staines, Middlesex in 1929 and ceased brewing in 1931.
There are a number of photographs of Wheeler's Wycombe Brewery (as well as many other places in and around High Wycombe) on SWOP (Sharing Wycombe's Old Photographs) and these can be viewed on www.buckscc.gov.uk/swop
