On 26 Dec 1853 - John Hindes age 55 Widower, Baker of Westoning, father Richard Hindes, farmer  married  Susan Bunyan age 30 spinster of Westoning, straw plaiter, father Thomas Bunyan, labourer

Witness Joseph Bonner (appears on many others) & John Sharp

Banns were read on Sundays 11th, 18th & 25th Dec 1805

I expect you know that Susan & Rachel were sisters, daughters of Thomas & Elizabeth Bunyan, who on 1841 census also have son John

I found their marriage as well - on 9 Oct 1815 Thomas Bunyan married Elizabeth Bunker; witnesses Thomas Bunker & the clerk Joseph Chew

Do you mean Sarah not susan and rachel were sisters yes I did know that

and are you sure about the year cause freebmd has it as 1846

Teresa, now you've had most of the good news - there's some bad ..

I could not find any Westoning baptisms of the children of John & Susan that are on 1841 census, or of children John & Sarah & of Thomas & Rachel as on 1861 census.

The ficticious specific dated entries for the three children of John Hindes & 'Martha' Martindale do not exist.

The only one I found was Sarah daughter of William & Elizabeth Hindes on 18 Jan 1845, William was a carpenter.

Good find that John! I must confess that Soundex has me confused, as searching against Hindes throws up Hines and Hine, so I'd expected Hinde to be covered too. Not so! I must be slipping as I checked all Johns in Westoning in 1800 +/-5 but forgot to do the same in Wootton.

Yes sorry, you are right, my mistake - trying to rush this before I have some dinner,

not to mention, went to opticians today & have to get new glasses

& Thomas & Rachel's marriage was 27 July 1846
