Any opinions from anybody on the FTM 2010 Deluxe from ancestry?
I know it is only to be released only on Oct 9, so no one will have it yet, but has anyone read any reviews from 'experts'?
I am toying between this and the 2009 'Who do you think you are' Family Tree Maker Deluxe, where there were quite a few complaints about it not being able to save etc. on reviews that I read on line.
Any help would be very much appreciated..I am a definitely non-techie.

I have been using an old version of FTM for quite a while and decided it was time to treat myself to the latest version. I found the old version very easy to use but was hoping to get some good new features, particularly for preparing charts etc.
I have had it for about a week now and am terribly disappointed.
It crashes all the time.
The interface is not at all user friendly.
If anything there seem to be less options before for preparing reports etc,
The relationship calculator doesn't seem to come up with the correct answer.
I shall give it a few more weeks but at the moment I could not recommend it to anyone.

I tried FTM2009 as an upgrade from FTM2005.
It looked "prettier" but loaded a lot slower, and there were fewer chart options.
I sent mine back within thirty days, for a refund.
Unless a program turns up with exactly what I want, then I shall stick with 2005 - sometimes "newer" is not always "better".
Just my opinion.

I read some of the review so now I dont know what to do, as on the laptop I have at the moment is Family Tree Maker 2006 and I find it easy to use, but unfortunately I am getting a new laptop with Windows 7 on it and it is not compatable with my programme. I found with the 2006 you can have as many generations as you want, but the newer versions dont. I get my new laptop tomorrow, so until I get a new Family Tree Maker, I wont be able to do my tree.
As anyone got any suggestions. I have subscribed to Ancestry until July 2010. so if I dont get a programme soon then I have wasted my money.
Regards
Gillian
