Hi Kathy,

I was at Bradford Library and archives office yesterday!

I have checked Undercliffe records
Scholesmoor cem
Bradford Public graves Database
Also St John Clayton Anglican parish church burials 1912

I checked the full year on all these and nothing of this burial.
On talking with the staff at Wakefield records office there is little infomation on the work houses round Clayton but the deaths would have been recorded in the workhouse accounts book only and buried unrecorded pauper graves at St John's church under the workhouse plot. These records are Missing.

Least you have his Death cert!/Date and there would have been no MI/dedication or epitaph on a  Gravestone anyway as for info.

I Also checked the newspapers > nothing.


Bradford now know of him.

I phoned Undercliffe 01274 571313 cen & crem aswell

Nothing on Cremation of Stainfirth Coultas 14-05-1912 or burial as they started cremations 1903

thanks so much I have just about given up can't find him anywhere looked up at calverley etc knew he was married there and found other coultas's that are our's but just can't find out where he is buried, but he must be somewhere!!!

on his death certificate his second wife maryann was living at 179 ripon st off the otley road and before he went into the workhouse proably because he had heart failure he was at saltaire. maybe maryann just left him at the workhouse and didn't bury him from home and it being 1912 my grandad was 22 at the time but I think he was away in the army, it just seems sad and my cousin and I would have liked to have visited his grave. we new they had no records for then as we asked at keighly.
                            anyway thanks once again kath
ps I know one of his sister's were buried at undercliffe in an unmarked grave.
