does anyone know what this was, the Census for 1901 shows my Grandfather aged 8 being there.  He was not an orphan I just wondered if anyone knows what this place was.  They are all boys from 12 - 3 yo was it perhaps a seminary school as my family were strong RC's have tried google etc but nothing I can come up with.  Any suggestions would be welcome - it is a mystery to me, I can only think that one of his brothers died of meningitus in 1900 perhaps he was sent there to get him out of the way but the girls all stayed home. Hmmm

Thanks in advance

Hi

The only St Paul's home I can think of was in Coleshill, which came under Meriden's registration district.  St Paul's was part of Father Hudson's homes.

There is a bit about it here bottom of page 2 and page 3.

Hi

Thanks for that sort of answers a few questions, Grandfather was always a supporter of Fr Hundson Homes, and often talked about Fr Haigh but that was in connection to the Abbey our parish church.......I just wonder if he was not put there for a short time for some reason which we will never know perhaps when his brother died or was sick.  Thanks for your assistance could not find anything here and had totally forgotten about Fr Hudson Homes, we used to sell "flags" as kids to raise funds if I remember they were blue and stuck on a pin.........heck that goes bakc to the 40/50's that shows my age.
