Welcome to RootsChat  Smiley

From the census, she was born in 1833 or so in Horton Buckinghamshire.  There are a couple of places in Buckinghamshire by that name.  One is near Wraysbury (now in Berkshire) and the other is near Mentmore.

Her son Thomas was registered in Cookham RD June qtr 1854 as Thomas Savin.  The death of a  Tom Savin was registered in Cookham RD in Jun qtr 1853.  A Thomas Savin and a Martha Marsh were married in the Cookham RD in December qtr 1852.

The only Martha Marsh that I can find in the 1851 census b in Buckinghamshire at the right sort of time was living with her widowed father Henry in Buckingham and was recorded as born in Buckingham itself.  However, that may be misleading.  She had the right sort of occupation - shoe binder - and her father was a Shoemaker.

In 1841 the family is recorded at Church End in Buckingham, a number of children incuding Martha and her younger brother George (also present in 1851).  The mother is Jane.  I can't find a marriage for Henry and Jane nor a baptism for Martha.

Unfortunately I can't find a marriage between a Martha Savin(s) and Thomas Ward at the moment.

In 1851 Martha MARSH is living at 3 Claremont Road South, Islington, Middlesex (Ref: HO107/1499 Folio 462 Schedule 24), a servant in the household of George HOLLIS, a 30 year old baker born in Windsor, Berks.  Martha is aged 19 and gives her birthplace as Maidenhead, Berks.

Ten years earlier, in 1841, Martha is aged 10, is an inmate in Eton Union Workhouse, Upton cum Chalvey, Bucks, and states that she was born in the county (Bucks).  There are no other persons named MARSH in Eton Union Workhouse but there were several in the 1841 census living in Horton, near Wraysbury.

Was it actually Martha's address that was Boyne Hill?  While father's names are shown, it would be the address/residence of the bride and groom themselves which is entered on the certificate.

I can't find a George Marsh in Maidenhead who was a butcher in 1851.  Of course he may have been dead.  Undecided

From the baptism register of Horton, near Wraysbury, Bucks (Centre for Buckinghamshire Studies Ref: PR107/1/4):

BAPTISMS 1813-1870

23 Jul 1826  Thomas  s George and Sarah Ann MARSH of Horton, grocer
3 Feb 1828  Robert  s George and Sarah MARSH of Horton
26 Feb 1832  Martha  d George and Sarah MARSH of Horton, labourer
23 Mar 1834  Henry George  s George and Sarah MARSH of Horton, labourer

Another child - Benjamin - was baptised to this couple at Colnbrook, Bucks on 9 May 1830.  I found no MARSH marriages in Horton 1813-1849.

BURIALS at Horton 1813-1858 (Ref: PR107/1/7)

30 Dec 1832  George MARSH of Horton, aged 5 years
27 Sep 1835  Henry George MARSH of Horton, aged 18 months
22 Nov 1840  Hannah MARSH of Horton, aged 67 years
18 Jun 1843  George MARSH of Horton, aged 74 years
18 Dec 1855  Mary MARSH of Colnbrook, aged 83 years

As mentioned in my previous post Martha MARSH is living in the Eton Union Workhouse in 1841.  At this time her two brothers - Thomas (b1826) and Benjamin (b1830) - are living with 73 year old George MARSH in Horton.  There is no sign of Sarah (Ann) and it is not clear whether George is father or grandfather to the children.
