1861 census lookup request - St James Middlesex
« on: Monday 07 March 05 14:12 UTC (UK) »

If someone would be kind enough to do a look up for me, I'd be most grateful. I'm afraid I don't have very much information.

Thomas William Mumford, St James, Westminster, London.

IGI show's him married to Eliza, in 1863. through christening record of son John, in St James, Westminster.

He may have been born in St James Westminster as their are Mumords in this area going back to 1500's on IGI, although I have also found a Thomas William Mumford b. 19/04/1838 & christened 03/06/1838, St Andrew-The-Great, Cambridge.

You can search the 1861 census for Middlesex at 1837online   It is indexed so he may show up.   There is a link to it from the home page - at the top.   I have spent some time looking for them in 1871 and 1881 with no luck.  Do you have any other details?   What makes you sure you have the right John?    Do you have him on the census?
