Please could someone look up for me the following in the 1851 census the following

Charles Bowkett born 1826 Ledbury, Hereford aged 25 his father would be Henry Bowkett (cordwinder) they may in either Ledbury or Wolverhampton

Also Ann Beard born 1833 Cookley, Worcs aged 18 her father would be John Beard (overlooker) they may be in either Cookley or Wolverhampton

Thanx in advance - this will boot me up a branch of the tree

            I was wondering how much you know of the Ledbury Bowketts,my G Gran was Hannah Bowkett born around 1812,parents believed to be John/Mary.

Hiya Pillie

So far I have got back to Charles born 1826 in Ledbury. His father was Henry on his marriage certificate born late 1700s his occupation is listed as a cordwinder. I haven't been able to get any further back from that yet. I dont have any reference to a John or Hannah but as I dont know any of Charles or Henry's siblings at the moment that doesnt mean to say ther isn't a connection. Charles married Anne Beard on 7.5.1854 in Wolverhampton where my line is decended from

I have found on the family search site a christening for a Henry Bowkett on 24.3.1794 at Ledbury. His parents are listed as a Joseph Bowkett and an Elizabeth

There is also listed a marriage for a John Bowkett to a Sarah Webb on the 27.6.1798

I dont know if this is ours or not but it might be

I have found the following on the IGI with John and Sarah as their parents

Phillip c 20.10.1811
Fredrick b 1.3.1804 c 24.3.1804
Stephen c 25.2.1810
Charles b 26.5.1802 c 6.6.1802
Robert b 9.5.1808 c 21.5.1808

John married Sarah Webb 27.6.1798

There is a marriage for a Hannah Bowkett to a George Evans on 25.4.1811 listed as well but there is no christening information listed yet so I dont know who her parents were

In the 1871 census there is a John Bowkett aged 72 b 1799 Ledbury with his wife Mary aged 49  b Catthorpe - they are living in Nottinghamshire.

I think there is a chance that Henry and John might be brothers but until we can find out who Johns parents were we cannot prove it. Henrys were a Joseph Bowkett and an Elizabeth Nash

Hope this lot helps and I will keep looking
