Thomas Baylis Maryport Trinity House Petition
« on: Wednesday 07 October 09 10:30 UTC (UK) »

I have just got a copy of one sent by my g.g.g.grandfather Thomas Baylis age 62 on 22/07/1802. It says "he was bred to the sea and master of several ships for 24 years particularly the Nelson which was lost near Belfast. It was signed by William Wilson, James(or Jane) Wilson, George Smith, W Carter (pilot) asnd Wm. Oldroyd.
I got it via origins and the soc. of genealogists. I don't know if he got a pension from them, it doesn't say.
