would be grateful if someone could tell me the army service number of Charles John Barrett who was in the Newbury Home Guard during the 2nd World War next time you visit the Berks record Office.

The Home Guard were not issued service numbers I'm afraid.

His records for the HG are still held by the MOD and can be claimed by NOK via the Veterans Agency website....For a fee of course!
