1871 & 1881 Census help
« on: Thursday 08 October 09 21:21 UTC (UK) »

HELP!  Trying to find Ann Agnes Rowland born c.1869 in St Pancras, Middlesex in the above census'.

She later switched her names around to become Agnes Ann.  Her father (from her marriage certificate in 1888) was John, a labourer.

Can't find any reference to a John & Ann (or Agnes) Rowland in any location.  Thinking the name may have been transcribed incorrectly but can't find an alternative.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks

Per freebmd

Births December qtr 1869

Ann Agnes Rowland     Pancras  1b 71

There is always the possibility she was illegitimate and made up a fathers name when she married.  If mum then married pre-1871 - she could be shown under her new married name

Yes the dad could have been fictitious I guess.  I have now ordered the birth certificate (hope it's the right one) to see the parents' names on that.

Thanks for your input.
