congregational church bolton

I need some help please.I am trying to find a congregational church in bolton,which was probally built between 1835 and 1860.I have some notes left in the family bible which state that THOMAS SIMS ,my ancestor,founded the congregational church in bolton and gave the sum of £500 for the building of it.
I am just going round in circles not really knowing were to look.Any ideas anyone? Huh Huh

Hi,

The Congregational Church was incorperated into the United Reformed Church.  So it is possible that the church you are looking for is now a United Reformed Church.

There are several in Bolton and this local link gives you a list.
