Former church in the village of Ardrishaig
« on: Friday 09 October 09 00:06 UTC (UK) »

I am hoping to draw upon somebody's local knowledge. My mother's family comes from the village of Ardrishaig by the Crinan Canal. For many years my grandparents lived with the rest of their family in part of a large house beside Glenfyne Park. For as long as I can remember, across the road from the house was (at the end of the High Road) a large mechanical/ engineering company which went by the name of 'Laytrax' (?). The actual building that  the company operated out of was a former church and must have been quite an impressive one in its time. On a recent visit to Ardrishaig I noticed that the building is now a private residence. I want to try and find out anything I can about the old church (denomination and dates etc.) as I think there might be a family connection. Can anyone help?

Thanks
