Lally Family from Athlone

Hello all,

does anyone know anything about my Lally family who came from Athlone ??

My great grandfather Christopher Lally was born in Athlone in 1898, his parents were Patrick Lally & Margaret Martin.  Christopher Lally married Mary Lyons & they lived in Ballinasloe, Galway.

Christopher had brothers called Patrick Lally & Joseph Lally.

Joseph Lally had 2 daughters I think & a son called Jack Lally.  I think maybe Joseph moved to Dublin.  Jack lives in England.

I heard that Patrick Lally had quite a few children, maybe 7 or 8, but I don't know where abouts Patrick lived.  I would love to hear from any descendants of Patrick Lally.   & also any descendants of Joseph Lally too.

Hey ya,

thanks for your reply.

I already know about the family from the 1911 Census, but Christopher & Patrick were only kids at the time & Joseph wasn't born until the year after.   All the other siblings died before adulthood. 

Apart from that there is not much more information to go on to help me trace further back.  But I would love to locate any relatives still out there who are descended from this Lally family.

I will keep that information that you have posted.  At the moment I have no idea if any of those names you gave me are related to my family, but maybe I will be able to find out at some point.
