Census information Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Been researching on scotlands people for old birth, death and marriage certificates but there are approx 15 birth certificates that are not available online. Can't afford to order them all so where is the best place to go to view these? Not fussed about getting copies, just want to see the info on them.
thanks

Sorry I forgot to add, some of the birth certificates i'm looking for are:
James Forrest (born 1911 and born 1919) Margaret Forrest (born 1921) Elizabeth Forrest (born 1917) Grace Forrest (born 1910) John (Johnny) Forrest (born 1912) Jean (Jeannie) Forrest Robert Forrest (born 1914) William Forrest (born 1915) Andrew Forrest (born 1923)
Also Jean Barrie Anderson (born 1922)
I have found these on scotlands people but they're not available to view

Hi there,
You can view them in Edinburgh at New Register House. Costs something like £10 a day (I haven't been for a couple of years now).
Alternatively, you might be able to view them at the Genealogy Centre at Park Circus in Glasgow. I've never been, but I think they hold a lot of the same information (although limited to Glasgow and surrounding areas, as opposed to all of Scotland).
Cheers, Clare

Excellent, thanks a lot, is it £10 per person for a day do you know?
The genealogy centre at Park Circus is far closer so I might give that a try first.
Thanks!

Hi there,
Yes - £10 for the day. More details are here http://www.scotlandspeoplehub.gov.uk/
Just googled for the Park Circus details too - http://www.glasgow.gov.uk/en/Residents/BirthDeathMarriage_Citizenship/GenealogyCentre/
Happy hunting
Cheers, Clare

Hi Jo
Park Circus have exactly the same records on their system as Edinburgh.
A problem only arises if the copy on screen is not very clear and you maybe want to view the original to decipher it a bit better. Park Circus only have Glasgow and surrounding areas on fiche and microfilm, but their computer system covers the whole of Scotland.
You wont be able to get printouts within the time bar periods in either Edingurgh or Glasgow. Births within 100yrs need to be transcribed by yourself.
I have been to Park Circus a few times and have never encountered any problems. You need to book a place before you go. I like to go on a Thursday, when I come out of there at 4pm, I head to the Mitchell to do more research, they are open until 8pm on Thursdays.
