Marriage lookup for Morcott - DAVIS / FOX

Hi I would be gratefull if anyone could give pointers to looking up the marriage of:
Francis   Davis
Rebecca (Rebeccah)    Fox
Estimating about 1820.  Francis is from Morcott but Rebecca is from either Harrington or Harringworth (Northants).

Their son also Francis Davis married about 1857 to Susannah (no maiden name).

All pointer are welcome as am very new to this!

Hi,

The marriage is on IGI – Francis Davis/Rebecca Fox 6/11/1818, Morcott. Here is the link to IGI: http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=igi/search_IGI.asp&clear_form=true

It is a submitted record, and these are less trustworthy than extracted records, so you might want to get it confirmed from another source. One of the rootschatters on here has the national marriage register, so hopefully they can help you. For future reference, BirthsMarriages&Deaths usually exist for most places from the 1580’s to about 1812, and compulsory registration of BMDs started in 1837. Your marriage falls between the 2.

There will be a marriage certificate for the younger Francis, but you need to know the details to send for it. Hopefully the rootschatter with the register can help with that as well.

I have the transcribed parish records for most of Rutland, so if you are looking before the elder Francis Davis, let me know and I will see what I can find.
