I got a copy of the marriage certificate Image from the Victoria BDM website today.
And.... John BOURKE was born in Cork Ireland to James BOURKE and Catherine nee WALSH
Marianne was born in France to Francis SMITH and Catherine nee HAYES

I also did some ringing around of Funeral Directors, and found that Evalina had been living in new zealand 82yrs when she died, making them arrive here in approx 1888. and on her paperwork at the funeral directors, had her father as Francis.

No I wonder if John was either Francis John or John Francis?
