Elizabeth Cheeseman..stepdaur..16....".......................Shatford, Essex
Matilda Dawson.......daur........4.................................Shoreditch, Middlesex

Marianne Andrews Cheeseman married Robert Dawson in the Dec qtr of 1856 Shoreditch R.D

Elizabeth Cheeseman was born Dec qtr 1844 West Ham R.D (Shatford, Essex)

* pure guesswork a Joseph Cheeseman married a Marianne Parfitt 1843 Medway, Kent.....a long way from either home makes this a doubtful marriage

Did it state Stratford or Shatford as place of birth for Elizabeth?

And why the question mark against the son named Walter...is it you are not convinced of christian name?

Hi Bryant,

Richard Cheesman married Marianne Andrews Powell - 7 October 1832 - All Saints, Wandsworth

Marianne Andrews Cheesman (widow) married Robert Dawson (widower) - 1 October 1856 - St Leonards Shoreditch

Stratford is in West Ham District. Elizabeth was baptised at Bromley St Leonard on 27 July 1845. The baptism record gives her parents' abode as Stratford.

The entry for the 1851 Census is for Walter. Possible birth -

Walter Percival Cheesman -  2 507 Stepney Dec 1846

  Well before I could get back I see the question has been answered. I had not yet looked at a birth for Walter but that was how I read the name and Nigel has got the relevent birth.

Sunday dog walk....... takes ages with our hound!
