Christopher Hazel,Cork to NY 1907
« on: Sunday 11 October 09 11:04 UTC (UK) »

Hello all!
I'm searching for my great granduncle Christopher Hazel D.O.B. dec 23 1887, who left Queenstown (Cobh), Co. Cork, Ireland on The Caronia in 1907 bound for New York. His arrival date was April 5th 1907. This is all the info I have. How do I go about looking him up on the census to see if he stayed in New York?
Thank you!
Ellie.

Some more info! He could have been married at that time, his wife's name was Katie (Catherine) Farrell. I'm not sure if she was travelling with him at that time.

The passenger list seems to say that he was going to join his sister Mrs. M.A. Smith, 58 East Clay St., Waterbury, Connecticut.

On a passenger list for the Arabic from Boston to Queenstown arriving 13 Jun. 1907, there is a Chris J. Hazel, in the wool business, Irish male adult of age 12 and upward.  Also, below that, it appears to have someone listed as "Ch. Chris Hazel" and other information the same as Chris J. Hazel.

I don't see any sign of your Christopher in census or other records, so the one going back to Ireland may well have been him.

Thank you Shelly,
I wasnt too sure if he had come back to Ireland or not, as his marriage is listed as 1908 to an Irish woman. I think your information clears this up!! But leaves me with another clue, as I didnt know a sister of his went to the States!!
