« on: Sunday 11 October 09 21:33 UTC (UK) »

I wonder if someone could assist me with look up for family Elizabeth Timms (nee Stanley)
b. 1828 who married William Timms .   They had a son named William Timms b. 1854, Bodicote, and I am trying to find other siblings in the family.

Regards

Hi Jan,

I thought I saw a William Timms with a wife Annie - from Priors Marston - is that your Annie Hawkes? I looked for a marriage and couldn't find one so thought she wasn't yours. Undecided

Hi Heywood,
Sorry I've been distracted with phone calls, it is William I need really, and you are right about Annie Hawkes (she was really Elleman) we think she took her step-father's name of Hawkes.
Its quite a confusing family.

Back to William Timms, I have a copy of 1871 census which shows Thomas Stanley 77, Elizabeth Tims 42 and William Grandson aged 16, so that seems to tally up with what you've given me now in the 1861 census.   Are you able to tell me where the property was in 1871 at Bodicote, wondered whether they were working on a farm.    It is interesting to note that there were Boffins in the census living around there as well, a Boffin was witness to William & Annie's marriage in 1876.

I'm trying to find whether William had any brothers and sisters, but looks like his father must have died quite early, once again more searching I'm afraid.

so Elizabeth was alive in 1861 - will look for her then.

The censuses don't show addresses but in 1871 the entry above the Stanley family is for a Henry William Abbotts who is a farmer of 287 acres employing 9 men and 6 boys.

In 1881, Elizabeth is a pauper living in 'Cottage'.
Henry Abbotts is 2 entries above in 'Private Residence'  Roll Eyes and is now an auctioneer.

I think this may be Elizabeth in 1861

Heywood,
Thanks for all of this information you've given me, I've taken a while to answer, sorry about that,
have been trying to collate various pieces of information I've now received on the whole of the
family, and had time to study it all.

Thanks once again
regards
