David SERVICE and Jane HOLLINGER, married 1820 at Ballyeaston
« on: Monday 12 October 09 22:14 UTC (UK) »

My G G Grandfather, David SERVICE, was born in Ballymena, probably inthe 1790's. He married Jane HOLLINGER, born at Ballyeaston in 1799. I know of 4 cildren: Thomas, Agnes, Mary Ann and John Heron, my G Grandfather, who was born in 1843.

I have details of Jane HOLLINGER's probate so I know she died in 1865 in Greenhill. Her husband, David, died some time before then.

Can anyone provide more information about my ancestors? Please!!

This could be useful - http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Antrim/Ballyclare_Rural/Ballyeaston_Town/108833/

You might want to look further into these names regarding the children? - http://www.ancestryireland.com/quis_advanced.php - unfortunately it is a pay site.

I think you may well find details here - http://www.familysearch.org/ENG/search/frameset_search.asp - there are plenty of Ballyeaston entries, just a case of working through them to see if any are useful!

Of course you may well have already looked at the above... Wink

Kind regards

Thank you alocin66 for your help!

The 1911 Ireland Census site is very interesting; do you know of ay sites that go back further into the 1800s?

As you assumed, I had found Service-Hollinger on Family Search - but only their marriage in 1820.

Thanks again,

Gerry

Hi Gerry

The first full census for Ireland is the 1901 Census which should be online with the 1911 some time next year. There are parts of other census but none that I know for Ballyeaston.

I have checked the records for First Ballyeaston Presbyterian and found the Marriage on the 5th April 1820.  The Minister at the time was the Rev. Samuel Elder. Thats all the info I have on the marriage at the moment.  The church is putting all marriage records on computer at the moment but it is taking us some time.  If i get a chance I will check the original book to see if there was any names of witnesses.

I can not find any other references to this couple in the Baptismal registers or a congergation census in 1813.

Thank you so much, John!

I will be absolutely delighted to see any more information you can find.

The 1901 Census should be very interesting tp see.

Thanks again,
