Norfolk Burials ?
« on: Tuesday 13 October 09 09:45 UTC (UK) »

Rootschatters kindly pointed me in the direction of Tinstaafl Transcripts for Baptisms  for Norfolk which are not on the IGI.

Is there anywhere similar for Burials ?

I have two childrens names recurring with in the same family unit and so the obvious supposition is death in infancy, but would like to confirm dates.

Lydart

Thank you for that link.  I've now found out that one of my 3 x g.grandfather's wife was called Mary and not Elizabeth. Huh  As one of their daughters (my 2 x g.gran) was already married by the time of the 1841 census, I did a search for her sister (who remained unmarried and was with my 2 x g.gran's family at the time of and after her death) and found the wrong family, so had the wrong mother.  Roll Eyes  This was early on in my research and I do tend to re-check the old entries from time to time, as new info becomes available.  I'll now plough through all the census again to see what turns up.

I think I probably have the correct parents now, as looking at 2 x g.gran's marriage certificate shows that her father John was a butcher.
Bizarrely, the majority of records on IGI for Dye (the surname in question) have been submitted, so no clues there.

Ive just had an excellent service from the Norfolk Records Office. If you can narrow down the details they can do a search for you, but its £30/hour. As they came across the parish records alomst at once it didn't turn out that expensive. Google Norfolk Records Office for details.
