hi trying to find a marriage and any info on a henry tomkins that  married mary eliazabeth ann hayward in otago in 1866 ,henry was born in abt 1840 as he died in victoria in 1894 aged 54 ,does anyone know anything or have details of the marriage. cheers colin

Henry TOMKINS - Mary HEYWARD - 1866

[Note spelling for Mary is  shown as  "HEYWARD]

---   just adding .... that our NZ Marriage Index, does not give the "place of marriage".

Further ... an 1866 (NZ) marriage record, did not state the names of the parents of the bridge and groom.    (See the Resources section of this board - under "BDM Information" - if wanting additional details of the contents of certificates.)

Spotted a couple of mentions of "a Henry TOMKINS" on our PapersPast website.   

[Nothing really significant though ... and don't be alarmed when you see "Resident Magistrate's Court" pop up  when you search on his name.   Grin    ]

---   at familysearch.org, there is a submitted entry  for Henry TOMKINS - Mary HAYWARD ...  which shows place of marriage as being "Invercargill".    [Invercargill is in the Southland region (bottom of South Island) - rather than in the Otago province].

yep I saw that but is was a submitted entry and the family have pictures and letters from otago with we think relatives so i discounted the invercargill
