Please see my previous thread re Gt Rollright PR lookup. I'm trying to cover all angles on the marriage of William KEEN and Mary. If anyone has access to Chipping Norton transcript I'd be grateful for a look up to see if there was such a marriage 1771-74. The first baptist of a child of this couple in Chipping Norton was on 27 Feb 1774.
Online trees show this couple to have married in Gt Rollright in 1771, but I never trust online trees, particularly when there's a three year gap until the baptism of the first child!
Also there are burials on the NBI of
William KEEN age 55 in 1807 and
Mary Keen age 82 in 1829
Do either of these entries include any other information?

Looked in my OFHS transcripts for C/N ... no marriage there.
checked OFHS marriage index
3 Apr 1771 Great Rollright
William Keene of Over Norton & Mary Webb
re burials in C/N
nothing extra on William
but the entry for Mary has .. of Over Norton

Brilliant! Thanks very much Myfi. More than I'd hoped for. I think that satisfies even me, the original doubting Thomas - those two baptisms make all the difference, neither of which show on any online tree.

Chipping Norton burial 1791 Mary Keen age 45. Was she described as wife of William?
Marriage Chipping Norton - is there a marriage of William Keen widow and Mary 1791-1807?

had a looksee at the burials, sorry it doesn't give any more detail for her, just her age
No sign of a marriage for a William Keen(e) widower or otherwise around that time in C/N
also checked the marriage index....
only one I spotted was 29 Oct 1804 at Westcote Barton, William Keen & Mary Tant, but he wasn't listed as a widower

Thanks Myfi, a pity, as I've now got a spare Mary Keen in Chipping Norton that I don't know what to do with! The last two children were 1790 and 1797, so I was half hoping that Mary1 had died in 1791, and William had remarried a Mary2 by 1797 (but at the age of c50 if her death age of 82 in 1829 was correct, she'd have been pushing it a bit to have given birth)

Just found a John and Mary in Chipping Norton, baptising children up to 1791. Bet it was this Mary who died in 1791. Back to plan A!
