Hi there,

Im looking for information on the Startup family. My great grandmother Alice M Startup married my great grandfather Herbert Thompson in 1929 in Ecclesall Bierlow in Yorkshire. The only info I have on my great grandmother is that she may of originated in Notts.

Can anyone help

Maybe the middle name rings a bell?

Check the 1911 Census.

Only 3 Alice STARTUP born 1908 +/3
One, Alice Muriel age 2 is in Nottingham

Also, there is only one Alice Muriel* STARTUP in whole Census, being the 2 year old.

In the same 1911 household appears to be:
Alice STARTUP age 35 (b abt 1876)
Anne STARTUP 66 (b abt 1845)
Charles Cecil STARTUP 4 (b abt 1907)

Do you know when/where she died?

There is also a birth in 1908 in Malling Kent for an Alice M Startup

That's caught me out a few times in past few days too  Undecided I wonder if it's been disabled ?  I think Trystan is doing some renovations, so it said on another topic about the disappearance of the Home page list of current topics . Maybe thosed red warnings are also turned off....Supposed to be temporary. Don't realise how useful they  are until we miss 'em  Grin
