I have looked at the Cornwall OPC but cannot find a birth at Luxulyan in the correct time period for Sarah Wellington.

In the 1841 UK census Sarah is shown as age 20 and in the 1851 UK Census shown as age 38 born at Luxullian.

This would place her year of birth at around 1813 to 1821 which is a 7 year range.

I have had one very helpful RC source (Jack Hayes) who indicates Sarah's birth at Luxulyan in 1921 to parents Richard (father) and Ann (mother).

I am seeking to try and resolve the 7 year issue and eliminate the possibility of my tracking two different Sarahs.

PS - some additional comments after the initial posting above
In 1841 UK census Sarah is in Parish of St.Sampson
In 1851 UK census Sarah is married to John Lobb of Broadoak

Welcome to Rootschat Cheesy

Luxulyan baptisms have been extracted onto the IGI and there is only one Sarah Wellington showing in the right time frame- the one you have. This doesn't prove she is yours as there is always the possibility of her being non-conformist or not baptised but does give you extra weight that you have found her.

FreeCen gives her age in 1851 as 38. Looks more like 30 to me on the original census page available on other census sites. Getting the marriage ccertificate would confirm her father's name and may help with her age.

Many thanks for your prompt and helpfull responses.
What I didnt allow for or thought of was the possibility of a transcription error in age record.
The source records behind IGI and the original census would seem to point to 1821 birth as correct. I will also follow up the marriage record with GRO.

WELLINGTON Sarah was baptised 25 Feb 1821 at Luxulyan parents Richard and Ann. Father was a Tinner, Residence Pigner Menaden

WELLINGTON Richard OTP = THOMAS Ann OTP by banns 20 Sep 1817 at Luxulyan. Bith signed Witnesses Richard Harper and John Tinney

Thank you Janan, osprey and Krisesjoint. The information you all provided was most helpful.
Unfortunately (for me) it has turned out that I have been following the wrong Lobb-Wellington line. Down the drain goes months of tracking and I am back to square one - but I suppose this is the nature of researching family history.
It did turn out, however, that the information was helpful to another person (by coincidence in Australia).
