John Joseph (O')Sullivan - Mungret
« on: Friday 16 October 09 15:36 UTC (UK) »

Hi,

I visited Ireland a year or so ago to trace the marriage of my great great grandmother- she was English and in service to a family.

I was lucky enough to find it in the old GRO search room.

She was married in 1911 to John Joe O'Sullivan a Gardener in Limerick. He was living in Mungret, she was living in the city centre.

John O'Sullivan's father is listed as a Sergeant in the R.I.C.

After my ancestors were married they moved to England, where the newly released UK 1911 census also states that he was born in Mungret.

I am not sure if he was R.C or COI, however they were married in a COI church.

He died in England aged 39 in 1924 so very little is known about him !

All I know he was born around 1885 and his father was also John, I know the completeness of Parish Records is limited, but I may be lucky along with the possibility of finding something out in the 1901 census.

But any clue or info would be great.

Thanks.
