There ought to be a register of burials for that graveyard, probably held by the Council but possibly there is one at the office of the  graveyard also.If you have the exact date of burial it will help but failing that the date of death. Most funerals were about a week after the death.
Try googling the name of the Council and add Burial Records, something should come up then you add the person`s  name date  of burial etc and particular cemetery and it all should come up. That is of course assuming the Council  have the records on a site. Best of luck. Viktoria.

If it's The Necropolis (there is also a Western Necropolis) that's the Merchants Cemetery on the hill above Glasgow Cathedral, try the Mitchell Library, Glasgow, "virtual mitchell"......Skoosh.

Jalin, Glasgow City Council's Land Services in the High Street, G1 hold the cemetery records but I hear you have to apply by letter and the cost is £60 (this could be wrong) scandalous if true! try the Mitchell at  www.mitchelllibrary.org  a site which might interest you is www.theglasgowstory.com  good luck....Skoosh.

The index for the Southern Necropolis is freely available in the Mitchell, but what Skoosh said about the £60 for the Glasgow Necropolis is what I have heard too.

I have people buried in the Glasgow Necropolis as well, but none of mine had headstones. They were all buried in the area of unmarked graves so far as I am aware.
