Leicester burials (Completed)
« on: Friday 16 October 09 21:58 UTC (UK) »

Hi

I am hoping that someone may be able to spot burials in Leicester for the following:

Joseph Brown - born abt 1802 (living in Russell Street, St Margarets Leicester in 1861)  Can't find him on any census after 1861 and therfore i am thinking that he died between 1861 and 1871.
James Truslove - Mar q 1938 in Leicester, aged abt 73
John Truslove - 29/06/1900 (Welford Road?)
John Stod - Sep Q 1861 Leicester (Welford Road?)

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Mike

Very helpful as ususl.

Amazingly i notice that John Stodd was buried on the same day as his sister - although she lived and was buried in Hinckley........

Just out of interest can you please look up a burial for Thomas Stott in Jun Q 1838 in Leicester.  I am wondering if this is John's father?

Greeting’s Again True Brit.

Ummm ? ...... Undecided
Sorry........ drew a blank on this one …….

NO STOTT Burials found within the Borough of Leicester Parishes.
Using your details …..

So. .......
Checked out Free BMD and it’s there …..
Checked out G.R.O. Site ( Viewing the original Records )
And it’s NOT there……
Although the Thomas Stott Rochdale XX1 472 is
Which was the other one on free BMD.

So……….. It’s either a miss  transcribe on Free BMD.
Or it’s a Submitted entry

Also noticed these STODD Burials on my trawl round via my Disks  :~

LEICESTER ST MARY   600   BENJAMIN   STODD   LEICESTER   20-Jul   1830   Aged.2

LEICESTER ST MARY   1100   BENJAMIN   STODD   LEICESTER   03-Feb   1833   Aged.2

LEICESTER ST MARY   1775   FANNY   STODD   LEICESTER   04-Apr   1836   INF

LEICESTER ST MARY   2025   JOHN   STODD   LEICESTER   16-Sep   1845   Aged.2

You should be able to understand the No’.

St Georges’s Parish Church.
STOOD   SARAH   22   NOV   1839   INF

Mmmm

Thanks for those Mike

I reckon that those new Stodd children are the children of John. Wonder if there are any baptisms?

Interesting to see a Benjamin Stodd - i believe that John had a brother called Benjamin too!

Thanks Mike - that confirms that then!

Can anybody spot John Stod on the various Census'?  It's likely that he is in Leicester although i cannot see him!

**correction - i have him in 1851 and 1861 now**  Born in Shardlow, Derbyshire.  I think i also now have him in 1841 - in Nottingham!
