Henry Pashby, born Levisham 1816, and wife Mary
|
Hi
Don't know if you can help me, but as I have no access to An****ry and their voluminous records, I have turned once more to you!
I'm looking for a marriage c1930 between ...
Unknown PASHBY and a Ms HILL
Might not even exist, but if my work is correct, I think that it should. I would expect it to be in Yorks somewhere, most likely North Yorks, but I am unable to track it down. It could be West Derby though (read on!) ...
My thinking comes from a Francis James Pashby born in Pickering in 1932, whose mother's maiden name was Hill, and who also marries Catherine M. Lawson - again in Pickering - in 1960.
I know that he was a grandson of William Dixon Pashby of Pickering (1862-1940) who, as far as I can ascertain, fathered three children: Sarah Jane Pashby (who married John W. Ring), Mary Pashby (who married Cecil Boak) and John Leadlay Pashby (1900-1927). There could have been another male child born post-1900 as the line would have ended with John who could NOT have been the father since he died in 1927.
Just to throw a spanner into the works ... the father MIGHT be William Pashby (1914-1989) who was born illegitemately (in West Derby) to Sarah Jane Pashby just before her marriage to John Ring. In fact, this is the most likely match. But I can't find a marriage for William Pashby and Hill!
Any ideas, please?

Hi
I don't think this is yours, But it is the nearest I have found.
Marriages Dec 1924 Hill Elizabeth - Pasby Camberwell 1d 1538 Pasby William E - Hill Camberwell 1d 1538
You mentioned the birth of Francis, if you have the birth cert you should have the names. Is it worth you buying it? Births Sep 1932 Pashby Francis J Pickering 9d 672

Hi Wendy,
Thanks for your efforts, but I tend to agree that it is unlikely that your 'find' is the right one.
As for the birth certificate, no - I don't have it. As for buying it, I'm really not too bothered. The 1932 Francis James Pashby is such a 'faraway' twig on the branch and is very indirect in terms of MY family, that I really don't think it merits the expense.
Yes, I know it's only £7.00, but you have to remember that I am a fully-paid-up professional Yorkshireman ...

I agree.
Even I wouldn't spend £7 on such a distant relation as I'm retired
