Hi there,

Does anyone have info on Henry Cockburn, Saddler Sergeant Major, 4th Dragoon Guards at Shorncliff, Kent in 1894. His son Henry Robert was baptised there.

If anyone can help I would be eternally grateful.

Thanks,

Craig

Hi Craig

I'm not quite sure what information you have already so ...................

there is a marriage for a Henry Robert COCKBURN (soldier) to Winifred Mary STEDMAN of the correct age in 1921 where he gives his father as Henry James COCKBURN a messenger. Following on from this there is a WW1 document for a Henry James COCKBURN where it is noted that he had 21 years previous service with the 4th Dragoon Guards.

There is a James Henry COCKBURN (bc1891) marrying a Constance Helen Elise ELLIS in 1915 who gives his father as Henry James COCKBURN sgt major.

If you search the 1911 census for Henry James COCKBURN (occupation messenger) there is one turns up in "Kensington"age 47.  Search again for COCKBURN living in "Kensington" with other person in household Henry James COCKBURN and there is a possible family http://www.1911census.co.uk/

Any help?
