Where to go??
« on: Saturday 17 October 09 22:47 UTC (UK) »

I will be in Scotland visiting soon from Australia. My 3 x gt grandfather and family were born Melvaig/North Erradale. He, Alexander/Alistair MacKenzie and his 2 sisters emigrated to Nova Scotia ( no idea when, but he was there by abt 1827) I think he was born about 1796, his father was apparently Duncan Mac/McKenzie and his mother Janett/Jessie McDonald. Duncan was apparently a weaver and they married after Alexander was born.

After being in Nova Scotia for about 30 years, he and his wife and 8 children were part of a group who sailed from Nova Scotia to New Zealand aboard Breadalbane, and settled in Waipu, New Zealand.

I am going to Gairloch for 3 days. Would appreciate suggestions on the best way to spend the time there.
Regards
Jan Moon
