Greaves of Lake Lock/Stanley
« on: Sunday 18 October 09 04:14 UTC (UK) »

Looking for parents of James Greaves b. abt. 1807  Lake Lock/Stanley.  James married Anna Maria Morton at St. Chad's, Rochdale, Lancashire 1825.  James had a brother Richard b. abt. 1816 at Stanley.  There was mention of a "pensioner" Catherine Greaves--could have been an unmarried sister or their mother.  James and Richard worked as "joiners" on large renewal projects throughout England and Wales including Conwy & Britannia bridges.  Richard & Elizabeth settled in Cardiff and raised their family.  James died in Cardiff 1862.

Have quite a bit of info on James' life and descendents, but can't seem to work backwards.  Researched online using Ancestry and LDS Family search.  Do not know church.  I have had no luck finding burial or cemetery resources.  Does anyone know how to go about searching Lake Lock/Stanley area births between 1806-1817 to find parents of James & Richard?  Thank you!
