My great great grandmother, Fannie Bowsher Paintin

John Painting - his parents?
« on: Sunday 18 October 09 16:03 UTC (UK) »

I know that one of my g-g grandparents was John Painting.  According to the IGI he was baptized on March 9, 1800 in East Garston, Berkshire, and his parents were Richard and Sarah.  My problem is trying to find out exactly who Richard and Sarah were so that I can trace the family back farther.  Some years ago, when I was first trying to trace back my family tree, I got some information, which I blindly accepted, that they were Richard Paintin and Sarah Huggins.  However, foolish me, I did not document my information.  Looking at the Family Search website I have found a record for the marriage of Sarah Huggins and Richard Paintir for 1791 in East Garston.  I am wondering if "Paintir" could be a mis-transcription of Paintin, and if these 2 could indeed be my g-g-g grandparents?  I have been able to trace Sarah Huggin's family back a ways.  I am also wondering if the Richard in question here could be the Richard Painton who was born in 1763 in Farnborough, Berkshire?  If anyone here has access to the Berkshire baptismal records, and could shed more light on this, I would be most appreciative!
